About Grants School of Music & Performance
In the Beginning.....
Drum and guitar lessons are now being delivered through our not-for-profit sister organisation, GSMP Community Ltd. This allows students to continue their one-to-one lessons while also having the opportunity to take part in group sessions and band programmes.

Grants School of Music and Performance was founded by award-winning vocalist and musician, Eilidh Grant. What began as a small number of students being taught from her home quickly grew, and before long Eilidh brought in additional tutors to meet increasing demand. Based in Houston, Renfrewshire, the music school was officially established in February 2020 and, despite the challenges of that year, has continued to grow from strength to strength.
Eilidh has built a team of exceptional musicians who are not only highly trained professionals but also passionate educators. All of our tutors are active performers, regularly touring, recording and performing live. They bring a wealth of real-world experience, knowledge and energy to every lesson, ensuring that learning is not only educational but, most importantly, enjoyable.
As the school has grown, we have moved into our purpose-built studios at Barnhill, providing a professional and inspiring environment for our students. Our modern, soundproof teaching rooms allow for focused, high-quality learning, alongside access to a dedicated recording studio where students can record vocals and create portfolios.
We now specialise in one-to-one tuition in piano, violin, voice and clarsach, allowing us to offer a more focused and personalised learning experience. Each lesson is tailored to the individual, supporting students of all ages and abilities to build confidence, develop their skills, and enjoy their musical journey.
